Meet The Artists

Barb lives in Washington State with her husband, Kirk, and near to their three adult children. Barb attended Central Washington University where she majored in graphic design and illustration. Working mainly in watercolors, she brings a touch of emotion from smiling birds to gleeful snowmen; each creature with its own unique personality.

Beth Reed is a UK-based artist creating soft, whimsical illustrations inspired by animals, seasonal charm, and cozy country life. Her hand-painted style artwork is designed to bring warmth, joy, and smiles. Beth draws inspiration from life with her three young boys and two sausage dogs. Beth is represented by TSB & Co. for her licensed artwork.

Deane (Beesley) Christiansen is a self-taught artist, illustrator, designer and painter living in beautiful Alberta, Canada. She has a unique, modernized and vintage style with a whimsical twist. Her collections and artwork are colorful, trendy, current and full of delightful critters and hand drawn lettering. Every piece she makes is created from the heart in the hopes of making someone smile.

Artist and illustrator Joy Hall has an art style that speaks to the heart of America.  Offering an array of collections, her art is direct, eye-catching and accessible, connecting with consumers from all walks of life.

Specializing in creating designs for the gift, stationery and home decor markets, Joy’s art can be found on a wide variety of licensed goods including dinnerware, calendars, garden flags, fabric and greeting cards. Although she refers to herself as an “East Coast girl,” Gail Flores has been living in the Midwest for many years. Born and raised in coastal New Jersey, she graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA in Illustration.

Gail is constantly inspired by her garden and paints directly from life. She has continued to experiment with new technology (painting with digital media in mind) and designs for a wide variety of products. In order to keep her hand in teaching, she does local watercolor workshops focusing on new techniques and current trends.

Ian has been drawing ever since he can remember. He completed a degree in graphic design at Newcastle Upon Tyne Polytechnic and went on to his first job as a designer for a large architectural practice. Now, he is once again back in the world of illustration and developing new styles for children's publishing and greeting cards.

Janelle Penner currently lives in British Columbia, Canada. She is primarily self-taught and has been inspired by all art forms - from the early masters to modern day graphics. Janelle has experimented with various mediums and likes to combine traditional and digital art forms to create her own style of painting. The natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest as well as the numerous house plants that surround her have provided inspiration for her art. She loves what she does and can spend hours in the studio being creative.

Just like her art, Katie Pertiet’s home studio is a mix of old and new. In a space filled with vintage books, fresh flowers, paints, brushes, and so much more, Katie blends patterns colors, textures, and antique imagery to create something new and fresh with timeless appeal.

​Leslie Trimbach is a fine artist and licensed designer known for her expressive watercolor work and modern take on traditional techniques. Growing up in a creative and encouraging environment, she began watercolor classes at the age of 8 and later earned a Fine Art degree from the University of Dayton. With a background in illustration, product design, and art direction, her work has been featured across home décor, wall art, gift, and tabletop markets. Working from her home studio, Leslie continues to blend hand-drawn artistry with digital tools to create collections that feel both timeless and fresh.

Paul Brent is an internationally known artist known for his watercolor and oil paintings of coastal subjects, nature and wildlife.  He studied art and design at Long Beach State University, as well as the University of California. 
Paul Brent is a member of both the National Watercolor Society and the Society of Illustrators.  He has created art for the home including wall decor, rugs, shower curtains, wallpaper, stationery, jewelry, apparel and gift items. 

Working in both watercolor and oil, he brings a richness of experience in both mediums to a wealth of subject matter.

Born and raised in southern Brazil, Raquel Maciel moved to Canada with her two kids a few years ago. Her love for nature as a kid made her pursue a career in science. But her career as a biologist didn’t last long. After taking some classes in scientific illustration, she quickly discovered her true passion. Through her connections in the scientific field, it didn’t take long for her to start illustrating for scientific publications.

To master the digital aspect of her business, Raquel felt the necessity of going back to school, this time to study graphic design. Influenced by vintage Victorian children’s books and folk art, now Raquel dives into the commercial side of art.

Sharon Kuplack grew up in L.A. and is now living in Northeast Wisconsin with her husband, near their four daughters' families and two grandchildren.

She works in her home studio, with inspiration and wildlife right outside her doors. She loves creating art, with the core love and focus being children's art and cute little critters enjoying life. She paints using water color and gouache as her favorite mediums

Beth works out of her home studio in Portland, Oregon. She began her career as an artist in the greeting card industry and eventually joined Carol Wilson Fine Arts, Inc., a publisher of stationery and gift items, where she worked as a staff artist for 15 years. Her decorative style is achieved by creating watercolors using traditional drawing and painting techniques, and digitally adding contemporary design elements.​

Daphne Brissonnet has always been drawn to the beauty of nature. Her early studies in botany opened her eyes to the form, dimension and subtle colors of her natural subjects. As she discovered a universe of unexpected beauty in the flowers and plants she studied, painting these subjects became an important part of her life, while revealing her talents as an artist. Primarily self-taught, Daphne continues to refine her skills by attending workshops in France and the U.S. as well as closer to her home in Canada.

Diane Kater began her artistic journey at a very early age, drawing and coloring her way through childhood.  Continuing into a more learned environment, she participated in a commercial art program in high school and then onto art school where she graduated with an associate’s degree in advertising and design.  She worked in the commercial field as an art director of an advertising agency until she branched out onto her own.  Her painting talents led her to her agent, Penny Lane Fine Art and Licensing.

Gail has been drawing her entire life. From the moment she was old enough to hold a crayon, color combinations and patterns fascinated her…as did animals.  Although her first “unofficial” creations were drawn on freshly painted walls and other surfaces when only a toddler, she quickly improved and was awarded a scholarship to begin formal art training at the Art Institute of Chicago by the time she was 10 years old.

Gail is usually found working in her studio, accompanied by Ollie, her crafty parrot.

Birds, bees, botanicals, bulls, back roads & blue jeans - -the beauty of farm, nature, home & garden are endless sources of inspiration for Washington state artist Gwendolyn Babbitt. Painting in both watercolor & acrylics, be it bird, bee, botanical, beast or barnyard, she responds with brush & paint to the breathtaking loveliness of this world & hopes her work reflects  even just a bit of Creation’s  wonder & beauty. 
 

From the beautiful Willamette Valley of Central Oregon, artist Jane Shasky paints beautifully detailed watercolors celebrating the flowers, plant and bird-life surrounding her Pacific Northwest home. Her paintings are remarkable for their detail and warm love of life. To see Jane’s work is to experience the timeless cycle of seasons; from the bounty of summer flowers and fresh-picked herbs to the delightful visitations of native birds perched among autumn leaves or singing from snowy winter branches in the nearby woods.

Lesa Marino grew up in West Haven, Connecticut and spent her summers walking to the beach with neighborhood kids. Her parents supported her childhood interests in art, piano, and choir singing. Marino channeled her creative energy academically and studied illustration at Paier College of Art.

Marino started in the greeting card industry and created art for products sold in Target, Walmart, the wholesale clubs and many other retailers. Five years ago, she returned to college and studied digital imaging and graphic art.

Nicole has carved out an enviable niche in the gift, stationery, and home décor businesses, with proven and successful sell-through in multiple distribution channels.

Working in watercolor, accented with a unique hand-lettering style, Nicole’s work can be seen across an array of products, working with close to 50 different Licensees. Often described as both elegant and whimsical her style is distinct in the marketplace, merging a traditional feel with trend-forward inspiration. Nicole’s creative and computer skills enable her to take her watercolor concepts and digitally adapt them to a variety of product templates.

Rebecca Canale is an artist who loves to share faith, beauty and encouragement through her work. She finds inspiration in Scripture, nature, flowers, colors and patterns. She works with watercolor, gouache, graphite, pen and ink. Her hope is that her artwork brings beauty into your world. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband Chris.

Sally is an artist and illustrator working today in the creation and development of new products for the gift and home decor industries. She paints images depicting nature in a traditional manner with a contemporary feel.  Using watercolor and pencil, and through delicate blending of rich color, intricate patterns and distinctive borders, her designs reveal art and nature are one.  While her inspiration comes from nature and natural objects, the look is current and trend driven.

​With a signature style recognized for its warmth and accessibility, Susan’s art exudes her passion for life, family and nature. With her children, grandchildren, horses, and dogs nearby on her farm in South Carolina, Susan’s home provides constant inspiration for the vast array of collections that she has created over her brilliant 40-year career as an Artist.

Susan’s personality is caring, kind, and generous of spirit…much like her art. This has made her appearances at shows, on QVC and HSN and other forums so successful. She takes pride in her artwork being shown at such esteemed venues as the White House, Colonial Williamsburg and the National Trust.
